"Project Re: Brief | Coca-Cola | Mobile Ad Demo"

In 2011, Google partnered with four global brands in an advertising experiment. The goal was simple - how can the ideas that defined the advertising industry in its infancy, inspire a whole new generation of creatives and marketers? We re-imagined and remade their most iconic ad campaigns from the 1960’s and 1970’s with today’s technology, led by the creative legends who made these campaigns.

See how Coca-Cola’s “Hilltop” was re-imagined. Now you can send a Coke to a stranger across the world from your phone

UNIQLO WAKE UP

Uniqlo have created an app in conjunction with Japanese composer Cornelius that creates a unique way to wake up in the morning. The app automatically creates a song that contains current time, weather and day of the week. Users can choose to share a record of the time, weather and temperature at the exact moment the alarm was stopped via social media.
It will surely resound with the young Japanese female demographic Uniqlo seems to be going for. I think I would probably throw my iPhone across the room if I were to wake up to these sickly sweet sounds. Try it out here.

Sony Xperia Made of Imagination

DEscription theinspirationroom

Sony Mobile Communications has launched “Made of Imagination”, a global advertising campaign introducing consumers to the first Xperia™ smartphones from Sony. The campaign marks Sony’s return to the smartphone market and emphasizes Sony’s connected entertainment experiences brought to life by Xperia smartphones. The campaign begins with a 60-second commercial directed by Wes Anderson. The concept will continue to be rolled out through 2012, using TV, print, digital, out-of-home and retail media.

Director Wes Anderson turned to the imaginations of children as inspiration for the TV commercial and the script is based verbatim on the thoughts of an 8 year old boy. He was assisted by a team of animators, set designers and puppeteers. The advert, which uses the same stop motion animation techniques made famous in blockbusters such as “Coraline” and “Fantastic Mr. Fox”, brings the boy’s vision of how Xperia smartphones work to life. Jonsi from Icelandic group, Sigur Ros provides the music.

The print campaign reflects Sony’s connected entertainment experiences that enable consumers to Play, Watch, Listen, Create. Each concept is brought to life with unique imagery and real life models that were hand built to demonstrate what is inside the smartphone. For example, for the ‘Listen’ concept the creative is a picture of guitar shaped like an Xperia smartphone.

Sony Made To Rock

Steve Walker, chief marketing officer at Sony Mobile Communications said, “Xperia smartphones are a cornerstone of Sony’s entertainment experience and we wanted to create a campaign that is true to Sony, one that is unique, memorable and sparks consumers’ curiosity and imagination. The Made of Imagination campaign demonstrates that Xperia smartphones are made of more than microprocessors and memory chips – they are designed to let consumers use their creativity and imagination to drive connected experiences that interest and excite them.”

Handheld Culture: Read While You Are Waiting
Background: Handheld Culture (www.handheldculture.com) is an electronic book store that wanted to raise awareness of what they offer, encourage people to read more, and drive sales. Challenge: Hong Kong people work long hours and don’t have much time to read. In order to sell their electronic books, Handheld Culture, first needed to find extra time for Hong Kong people to read. Insight: Hong Kong people never waste a second if they can help it: except when they are queuing. As Hong Kong is so crowded people are constantly queuing: in shops, for entertainment, transportation and even for seats in restaurants. Could queuing time be used for reading? Creative Solution: Handheld Culture felt that queues could provide the sales medium they needed. So they used restaurant queue number tickets as a promotional medium. They put short quotes from 100 good books on different tickets along with QR code that allowed queuing customers who were bored waiting to access and download the entire book on their phone or mobile device. Result: Maxim’s Catering also supported the read culture and and provided the medium without charging any cost. Within 1 week, 110,000 restaurant queue tickets were distributed, leading to a 22% click rate increase on Handheld Culture’s site and a 5% increase in sales.

Snake the Planet: Projection Mapping Gaming

Description digitalbuzz

Everyone loves Snake right? Well how about if that game of Snake just happened to be wheeled out of a car and projected onto any surface? That’s cool, but now imagine if that game of Snake came with a built in couch and the ability to generate dynamic projection mapped levels no matter where you set the game up? Now you get where I’m going… That’s super cool, and I want to play!

Created by our friends at Mojo, Finch and MPU, the mobile projection mapping installation is completely dynamic, in that it scans the projection surface for objects (windows .etc) to build out each and every Snake level in real-time, before letting players sit back and play!

WDC Helsinki: Remote Controlled Design Café

Description creativecriminals

World Design Capital 2012 Helsinki wanted to make those not naturally interested in design aware that design is anything that makes things work better, that design is all around us every day, that design affects us all and that you can have an effect on it by sharing ideas on how to make things work better with the World Design Capital mobile application.

At the core of the marketing communication is a movable café with design (tables, chairs, music and spoken service) anybody can remotely control on the web in real-time. All of the different elements of the campaign (PR, tv, print, outdoor and banners) directed people to the café while also communicating the chosen messages.
