Expedia Tag Me If You Can
In Australia and New Zealand Expedia has launched a Youtube-based contest that takes geo-tagging to a whole new level of fun. In Tag Me If You Can the host, Nathan Jolliffe (a local surf celebrity) travels around the world to 15 secret destinations. Every day he gives clues to participants who have to guess where he is and tag his location within 10 metres for the chance to win a cash prize.
Each player can drop three tags per day, but can earn more credits by sharing the game with friends on Twitter or Facebook. Each time a tag is dropped the advergame will tell the user if he’s Red Hot, Hot, Warm or Cold to indicate how close (or far) he/she is to the destination.
Give it try (you can register with a fake account): it’s a really fun and engaging contest. It’s just a pity that players win money instead of a trip to the destination they just unveiled. It’s a bit of a miss from a branding point of view, but probably winners don’t really n

OOH advergame by BMW
Very interesting interactive campaign by BMW in South Africa. For the launch of the new 1 series car, they’ve attracted and engaged consumers with a racing game projected on buildings and scaffoldings. The fun thing is that consumers had the chance to join the game by connecting their iPad to a dedicated Facebook app. This BMW idea is one of the first examples of a Facebook Connect OOH advergame.

Domino’s launched “Pizza Hero” a new semi-real-time advergame that challenges you to become just that, a Pizza Hero as you battle people from around the world to top the leaderboard. The app is pretty cool, and will have you kneading dough, spreading sauce, sprinkling cheese, placing toppings, and cutting slices as you race against the clock.You score is based on the pizza quality and how quickly you made it. The more you play it, the tougher it gets and the addiction sets in, which is because of the real-world nature of the app. It’s something tangible that you could actually physically make and that’s got an appeal to the realness of the gaming concept. Mercedes-Benz UK are running a pretty interesting campaign called “Escape The Map“. It’s lead by a TVC challenging a much younger demographic to jump online and play the “Escape The Map Game”. I’ll be honest, it’s a pretty weird game, and that’s a dam expensive car, but you have the chance to win a new Mercedes C 63 AMG Coupe if you can escape the map !
Basically, you’ve got to navigate through the interactive video experience, completely various challenges along the way to escape before your head becomes blurred out. If you escape, you’ll be in the draw for that car… Would love to hear your thoughts? Watch the full game video here…

French railway service SNCF, has just launched a brilliant online campaign to promote its sponsorship of the American Film Festival in Deauville as well as its train service that connects Paris to the beautiful village in Normandy. It’s like a disaster movie. With the climax, the hero who looks like Bruce Willis, the embarrassed/embarrassing military and a mission to accomplish. Watch the trailer and give it a try. Can you save the world?
Unfortunately the interface of the website is only in French, but the film is in English, so you can still enjoy the experience. Accept the terms and conditions and when you are prompted with a question just type in what you think can be the secret weapon that will save the world. Then sit down, relax and see what happens.

Maybe not, but I bet you smiled. And you will remember there’s a train that takes you from Paris to Deauville in just two hours.
